DERMOMAT

Engineering Skin Regeneration

Chronic wounds affect millions of patients worldwide and represent one of the greatest unmet needs in modern healthcare. Diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and complex surgical wounds often fail to heal despite prolonged treatment, leading to infection, hospitalisation, amputation and substantial healthcare costs.
By combining advanced biomaterial engineering, antibacterial functionality and mechanotransductive technology, we work to restore the biological environment required for effective tissue repair and skin regeneration. Our mission is to transform chronic wound care through innovative, clinically driven solutions that improve patient outcomes and reduce the burden on healthcare systems.

Our technology

Healing is governed not only by biological signals but also by the mechanical environment surrounding cells. Dermomat's platform harnesses mechanotransduction — the process by which cells convert physical cues into biological responses — to stimulate tissue regeneration and wound repair. Our biomaterials mimic key features of the extracellular matrix while providing structural support, antibacterial protection and regenerative signalling within the wound bed.

How Our Technology works

Step 1
Physical cue

An ECM-mimicking architecture presents cells with the structural and mechanical signals of healthy tissue.

Step 2
Cells Respond

Cells sense those cues and convert them into biological activity — attachment, migration and proliferation.

Step 3
Tissue Regenerates

Angiogenesis and remodelling follow, supporting faster closure and better outcomes in hard-to-heal wounds.

Dermomat Matrix Technology

Both products share Dermomat's mechanotransductive, antibacterial core. They differ in form, so the right one fits the wound being treated.

Dermal Matrix in practice

Dermal Matrix

Antibacterial mechanotransductive dermal scaffold

A structured scaffold that provides support while actively guiding cell infiltration, vascularisation and tissue remodelling.

 Dermal Matrix™ Technology

flow matrix in practice

FlowMatrix

Injectable regenerative dermal matrix

A flowable biomaterial that conforms to deep cavities and irregular defects where fixed-form scaffolds are difficult to apply.

Why Dermomat

Most wound-care products are built to cover and protect — passive barriers that manage the surface while the stalled biology of a chronic wound remains largely untouched. Dermomat takes a different approach.

Our technologies are designed to actively stimulate regeneration by combining biomaterials science, mechanobiology and tissue engineering. Rather than acting as passive dressings, our products aim to create an environment that promotes natural healing and tissue restoration — with the potential to improve outcomes, reduce complications and enhance quality of life for patients with chronic wounds.

About Dermomat

Our vision

We envision a future where chronic wounds are treated through regenerative therapies that restore tissue function rather than simply managing symptoms. Dermomat is committed to developing transformative wound-healing technologies that bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and clinical practice — delivering better outcomes for patients and healthcare providers worldwide.
